2012 Almanzo 100 and Royal 162

If we had to rank our favorite events from 2011 the Almanzo 100 would have to be near the top of the list. Check out our recap of the event here.

100 miles (or 162 for the Royal) on a bike on crushed gravel is southern Minnesota, what’s not to like?  Well last year, it was cold, and wet, and challenging enough to leave us addicted to gravel racing.  Organizer Chris Skogen pours his heart and soul into the event and it shows.  Every little detail from the race numbers to the cue cards have been painstakingly crafted, and he does it all for free.

Registration for the 2012 is now open, but if you are expecting a link to a website where you can put all of your information, think again.  Like everything Almanzo, registration happens with a certain style, a postcard, with you name and information sent directly to Mr. Skogen before January 31st will seal your entry into this event.  The number of riders is unlimited, but don’t wait, send your postcard in today.
