Having been a two-time theft victim in South Minneapolis (locks mean nothing) stories about bike thieves being caught always catch our attention, and warm our hearts.
Our favorite story of all-time involves a Cycle Twin Cities reader, but we will let you read that story for yourself. This story, posted to the South Minneapolis Patch a few weeks ago is nowhere near as entertaining, but just as satisfying.
My favorite part about this was where the alleged bike thief was caught:
“The complaint says the officers found Crawford, who both witnesses later identified as the man they saw on the bicycle, riding around Lake Harriet. When they approached on foot, the complaint says, he left the bicycle—a black Specialized-brand—by the trolley bridge on William Berry Parkway and fled for a short distance on foot.”
It’s nice that he was able to enjoy a ride around the Lake before getting caught.
