Weekend Cycling Events
Our busy weekend in the Twin Cities cycling scene got kicked-off last night with the Bicycle Film Festival at the M.I.A. But the fun doesn’t stop there. This weekend, you can pretty much get into whatever you want.
Readers if you know of something happening that you don’t see listed here, put it into the comments section for everyone to see.
Bicycle Film Festival– The first films tonight start at Saint Anthony Main at 7:00 and continue until 10:00, when the after party gets kicking at the Red Stagg in NorthEast. During that time 18 different films will be shown, ranging anywhere from 1 minute to 54 minutes.
Tour de Fat – 10:00am starting from Loring Park. Hopefully the rain on Saturday holds off for this ripping good time. You can even trade a car for a bike!
Pedal for Peace – Starting at the Minnehaha Bandshell at 8:00am this ride takes to the Grand Rounds, Midtown Greenway, and the Mississippi River Parkway. You can ride 8, 20 or 40 miles. After the ride we will have lunch together, listen to some live music and hear from speakers – including a returned peacekeeper.
Bicycle Film Festival – The third and final day of the Bicycle Film Festival kicks-off with a scavenger hunt at Gold Medal Park at 10:00am. The films start at 5:00 and run until 10 when you can head over the One on One for some after party action, in the alley of course.
Southside Sprints – Criterium racing in the heart to South Minneapolis. Head on down to the intersection of 48th and Chicago. Category 5 races start at 8am the really fast guys start at 1:00.
