Weekend Cycling Events

Next week is a pretty packed week in the Twin Cities cycling scene (Bicycle Film Festival, Southside Sprints). But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to do this week.  Check it out.

Readers if you know of something happening that you don’t see listed here, put it into the comments section for everyone to see.

Capitol Crit – Did the Nature Valley Grand Prix last month whet your appetite for watching racing live and in person?  Here is another chance.  Over in Saint Paul they are hosting the Capitol Crit starting at 9:00am with the Masters racers.   Check out the start list and get to know some of the people in the local racing scene.

Beers and Gears Bar Crawl – Starting (and basically staying) in Northeast Minneapolis, Andy of Blood, Sweat, Chemo is hosting a bicycle bar crawl, with all proceeds going to the LIVESTRONG Foundation.

Midnight to Dawn Bike Ride- The 33rd annual midnight to dawn bike ride will take off from Southwest High School in Minneapolis on Saturday night and will twist and turn through Minneapolis for a mostly car-free ride.  It sounds like a few businesses are going to be staying open just in case you want some 2am ice cream.  This event is usually sold out way in advance, so you might be out of luck if you aren’t already signed up.

If you are headed to any of these events and want to give CTC a re-cap, that would be great, just contact us.

    Thanks for keeping me updated.

  2. Erik Ostrom says:

Says in the document that Midnight-to-Dawn stopped taking registrations in June, so I am out of luck. Sounds fun, though! I guess I could just get my bike out at midnight anyway.
