Weekend Cycling Events
After how busy and event past last weekend was, and how crappy this week’s weather was it will nice to get out and do some leisurely riding this weekend, or you can do this:
SOLIDAGO BOMBAGO Group Ride – Even if you aren’t going to be able to head off for the weekend festival in Somerset, Wisconsin you can at least participate in some good ‘ol fashioned group riding. Lowrah from Grease Rag is going to lead a group leaving from Sunrise Cyclery at 9:30, joining up with the larger group ride in Saint Paul at 10:00.
Boneshaker Book’s Pedal ForWords: Alleycat Race – Ok so you are really into reading and also books? This sounds like the event for you. 4:00-10:00 pm At Boneshaker Books in Minneapolis, they promise a “bicycle race with a bookish twist!” Advanced registration (through tomorrow) is $5, $6 same day.
Velo Kids Program– Let you kids get an early jump on track racing at the NSC Velodrome in Blaine. 1:00-2:30 for kids ages 9-12, they get a chance to get out on the track for cycling skills and racing games.
Tour de Roses Bike Ride – From the Roseville City website: “Tour Roseville’s scenic off-road trails, and safe on-road routes, while enjoying a 10 or 25 mile ride. Ride will start at the Roseville Skating Center at 9:00AM and continue through local parks, community neighborhoods and around area lakes.”
Check out the final mile of the Cedar Lake Trail. This has been many years in the making, first check out the post from the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition, then ride for yourself.
