Nice Ride Expands East

Twin Cities bike share Nice Ride  is beginning to follow-through on the planned eastward expansion down Lake street and into Saint Paul.

Over the past two days stations have been installed at both East Lake and 39th (picture right) and at the Lake street YMCA, just a block down the street from the Lake street Light Rail station (see picture below).  These appear to have taken two days to install, one day to get the docking station in place and a second to roll the bikes out and put into place.  Both stations are a little bit sparse with bikes right now, but it will probably take them a little while to determine just how busy these racks are going to be.

Looking at the station map over on the Nice Ride website, it appears that there are three more stations installed which are waiting on bikes.  The Fairview/University Ave, Snelling Ave/Sherburne and North Pascal Street/Englewood Ave, all in Saint Paul are currently showing zero bikes and zero docks available which means they are brand new.

If your travels bring you near one of those areas keep an eye out for some snazzy new Nice Ride bikes!
