Weekend Cycling Events
We’ve got all sorts of racing both traditional and non-traditional going on this weekend. Get out on your bike and stay dry.
Nature Valley Grand Prix Uptown Crit. – You will never be able to see pro racers any closer up than this. Crit racing is quite exciting and to see them under the lights of Uptown will be particularly nice. The expo and racing starts at 4:30 and runs until the evening. Check out the webpage for more info.
Bike Art VI: Arty Garage Sale and Bikini Bike Wash – Over at Altered Esthetics you have the chance to pick up some one of a kind cycling related art work and get you bike washed, what could be better. The garage sale opens up at 7:00 and runs until Noon at 1224 Quincy St. NE in Minneapolis.
Nature Valley Grand Prix Menomonie Road Race – This should be a full day of racing, and while you won’t get a chance to see riders looping by you tons of times like in a Crit, you can pick out a spot and get to enjoy seeing riders zip by with scenic Wisconsin countryside in the background. There will be lots to see and do in Menomonie and it is just a short drive away.
Velo Kids Program– Let you kids get an early jump on track racing at the NSC Velodrome in Blaine. 1:00-2:30 for kids ages 9-12, they get a chance to get out on the track for cycling skills and racing games.
Bike City Launch Party. – There is a new resource coming to the Twin Cities cycling website scene; Bike City. They are hosting a launch party this Saturday behind One on One Bicycle Studio starting at 6:00pm and running until 10:00. There are going to give-aways, drinking and general good time having. So get there early and have fun.
TCS-SAS – Saint Paul Edition – Joe and the folks of the Twin Cities Three Speed Adventure Society are at it again, this time they are brining their act to Saint Paul. Kicks off at 10:00am at this clandestine location.
Nature Valley Grand Prix – Stillwater – This will be your last chance to check out some racing at this level until it comes back next year. As tradition goes the final day of racing at the Nature Valley Grand Prix is going to be in Stillwater. Watch the cyclists glide up hills that would put most of us into the hurt box. 10:30 kick-off.
1st Annual NE Pedal Pub Races – Be a part of what hopefully becomes a tradition for the area, racing pedal pubs! Follow the link to find out all of the details, and enjoy yourself.
If you are headed to any of these events and want to give CTC a re-cap, that would be great, just contact us.
