The Golden Wrenches over at Freewheel Bike, are continuing to make some moves in the Twin Cities bike mechanic scene. Just a few weeks ago, they managed to hire away Tyson Meyer from Penn Cycle, who is known as one of the best shock service people in the area, now they have purchased the Shockspital and guru B. Rose.
According to the Shockspital Twitter feed and blog, this happened last week, and as of later this week, they will be moving the location of the Shockspital to Freewheel’s Midtown Greenway location. B. Rose says that this will result in better service, quicker turn around time and better communication.
Between hiring Tyson Meyer, acquiring the Shockspital and starting a suspension fork rental program, Freewheel is really going after folks a group of riders. They haven’t necessarily been known for mountain bike work in the past, but this should cement that for the future.
