Weekend Cycling Events

Spring is officially here, and with it comes oh-so-many, events.  30 days of biking wraps up and you might as well make it 31 straight with the Ironman on Sunday!

Friday:

Active Living Bike Expo– Free admission, see products and gear, workshop presentation, and lots more! This runs Friday and Saturday at the State Fairgrounds in Saint Paul.  It will be a huge collection of everything cycling.

TC3-SASAnother installment of three-speed adventure goodness hosted by Snak Shack. Meet at the Longfellow Grille at 11:00 am, and make sure you are looking dapper.

Bikini Bike Wash12:00-4:00 pm.  This is hosted by the Queer Bike Gang, be sure to check out the description so that you know what you are headed to, and know that it is a benefit.  Hopefully it won’t rain, the proceeds go to the Minnesota Aids Project.

Pedals Optional Rally Head to the Hexagon Bar (2600 27th Ave. South) between noon and eight to check out some crazy and some sweet bikes! Plus here is an excuse to start drinking at noon.

Dirty Thirty and the Tour de Taco – Our friends over at Bike Love are having a fun little get together to celebrate the completion of 30 days of biking.  Meet at the Freewheel Midtown location on the Greenway at high noon. The Dirty Thirty is a speed race with $150 cash prize. The Tour de Taco is 15 miles of Taco-ey goodness, both sound good to us.

Bandit Cross-   Ready for some backwoods racing?  Meet that the Hobo Camp in Bryn Mawr Meadows at 6:00 to race.

Sunday:

Minnesota Ironman – Without jinxing it, this year we might actually have a sunny day that doesn’t feature 30 MPH wind gusts… Kick off the season right with 100 miles.

The Active Living Bike Expo is free with a canned good or donation to Bicycle Alliance of MN. I will be working there instead of Tour de Taco…. Come say hi!!
