Theodore Wirth Off-road Cycling Trail opened up the gates in 2005. Since that time, and thanks in large part to volunteers and the City of Minneapolis, the trail system has grown and improved to the point that it is now a great facility within the City limits.
Believe us, there are not many major metropolitan areas across the country with recreational trail like this within their borders. The good news is, there is a chance that it is going to get better. Right now, the City of Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Department is conducting a survey about how to upgrade and improve the regional park, including options to expand the off-road cycling trails.
If you want to see the current paths expanded and improved, head on over to the survey website, and help us stuff the survey box for increased and improved trails.
Responses are requested before May 2nd.
