Weekend Cycling Events

Every week can’t be quite as gangbusters as last weekend was, but the weather sure is looking nice….. get out and ride!

All weekend:

ARTCRANK Continued. Didn’t get a chance to check out the great posters at ARTCRANK last weekend?  No sweat.  Starting Friday night the poster show goes mobile and is setting up shop at One on One bike shop in Downtown Minneapolis.  It will be there from April 8th to May 6th, but keep in mind, all the posters are already printed so once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Cross Paradox Opening. Beginning Thursday and running through April 30th a photo exhibition will be hanging in the art gallery like halls of the Angry Catfish.  There is a small preview up on line, but it probably will be better in person.

Ragnarök 105. The gravel racing season has officially begun. We will have someone there riding and covering the event and hope to have a re-cap up next week… assuming that Luke “I’ve never had a flat” Francl lives through it :).  This race has a waiting list almost as long as the start sheet so if you aren’t in, you aren’t racing.

Tune-up Time – From the best we can tell, almost all bike shops are a week or less out on spring tune-ups.  This will still be the case until the first day above 50 degrees without snow on the ground.  You are really going to want to ride your bike that day, but if it has a broken brake or an inner tube with a hole, you are going to be sitting that ride out.  The worst part is, when you bring your bike into the shop then, they will be two – three weeks out.  Bring it in today, or you know, learn how to fix it yourself.

We know this isn’t part of the weekend, but there is a good event this day so you should know about it.

Sibley Bike Depot Open House and Spring Kick-off. – Check it out.

If you are headed to any of these events and want to give CTC a re-cap, that would be great, just contact us.
