Twin Cities 3-Speed Adventure Society

Not that it is easy to pick one part the cycling community here as “the best part” but… One of the great things about it is the diversity of people and activities. If you’re a roadie, there is plenty for you, what about mountain biking? Yep, got that too.

But what about those of you with a 3-speed sitting in the garage waiting to go out and play with other 3-speeds from around the Twin Cities? Yep, the Twin Cities 3-Speed Adventure Society (TC3-SAS) has got you covered.

We heard from Twin Cities Bike Blogger (and lead 3-speed adventurer) Snak Shak about the details of the upcoming rides;

I am organizing a series of 3-speed rides around the Twin Cities this season to try and get people that maybe would not otherwise join a group ride but want to explore places they maybe would not go alone. This started on a dare last year through Minneapolis Bike Love and we actually had a pretty good turn out, so I am re-inventing this as the Twin Cities 3-Speed Adventure Society (TC3-SAS) this year.

The first ride will be leaving from Longfellow Grill on Saturday, April 16 at 11:00. We will be riding the Grand Rounds. This is a no-drop ride and new riders are welcome.

We are discussing it on Bike Love and it’s come up on Snak Shak more than once as well.

But what if you don’t have a 3-speed bike?  After some checking we learned that “If you show up you will be welcome” but maybe leave the spandex at home.

Be sure to check it out on the blog, as well as on the Bike Love Forums!
