On Friday we visited Cars-R-Coffins, to take one last tour and wish Hurl the best.

Upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised to see the tables filled with people, the cooler filled with beer and whiskey stocked behind the counter.

It was the late afternoon and Hurl was in the process of packing up the last of the back room bike shop.  The new residents moved in Saturday morning, and are keeping all of the coffee shop aspects of CRC including the equipment.

While packing, we got a chance to see Hurl’s Betamax copy of Breaking Away and the first ever Almanzo 100 trophy, which lived behind the counter on the trophy shelf.

Hurl told us that after sleeping off the Friday night festivities he was headed down to Arkansas for a week of training in warm weather before the gravel racing season begins here in earnest.

Good luck this season, and see you on the road.
