Looking at add one final tune-up to your ride schedule before Almanzo? This is it.
Right between the Minnesota Ironman (May 1) and the Almanzo 100 (May 14) the fellas at Minneapolis Musette will be leading the Ox Yoke 124 on Sunday May 8th. This event is a ride, not a race, but knowing the participants it will definitely be fast paced and get your heart rate up. As you can probably guess from the title, the ride will be 124 miles, and according the description will be almost half on gravel and horse trails.
The ride leaves at 6 AM from at The Fix Studio, with a meet up for coffee and preride doughnuts at 5:15 AM. You will be able to park at the Studio all day while you ride, and they are even providing lunch in Hutchinson. They recommend a road bike with a minimum 700c x 25 tire, and lots of patches.
This sounds like a heck of a ride and clearly took some time to put together, it is limited to 20 riders, so head over to Minneapolis Musette for complete info and to find out how to sign up.
