Twin Cities Cycling Events Tonight

If you haven’t visited our events calendar lately, you are missing out.  While there were only a handful of events this past weekend, three different biking events are planned for tonight (Tuesday), so hop on your bike and head out.

Sibley Bike Depot Women’s and Transgender Open Shop: Sibley’s Women and Transgender Shop Night restarted last Tuesday, March  1, but it is going on every Tuesday from 6-9pm.  Go work on your bike, learn bike mechanics, or  volunteer in a safe and welcoming bike shop environment.  Sibley requests that only Women and  Transgender folks show up tonight, but if you don’t fit those categories, you have plenty of other days to go in.

Saint Paul Bicycle Coalition Monthly Meeting: They are still working on the new website, so the agenda isn’t quite up to working order yet, but, join them from 7:00 – 8:30 tonight at the Jimmy Lee Recreation Center (270 Lexington Pkwy. N. at Marshall Ave.)

PechaKucha Night Featuring Brent Fuqua (Recovery Bike Shop): One night, one location (Bryant Lake Bowl), eight different topics, all with the handmade theme in mind.  Brent Fuqua (owner/ operator of Recovery Bike Shop in North Minneapolis) is hosting a session called “Homemade Bikes: The ups and downs of pimping your vintage ride”.  Doors open at 6:00, event starts at 7:00 and it is free.  If you are unfamiliar with the PechaKucha style of presentation, they utilize 20×20.  20 slides, each displayed for 20 seconds, that is all the presenter gets.

Have fun, ride your bike, and let us know if you are going to go!
