Casey Gibson is by all accounts an awesome photographer and living my dream life. Seriously, traveling around the world to bike races and photographing them, yes please.
Recently VeloNews featured a gallery of Mr. Gibson’s photography in a look back at 2010. Included in this grouping were several pictures from the Nature Valley Grand Prix , the closest a Minnesotan can get to big time road racing.
The photo above was part of this display, and is an excellent depiction of what upper mid-west cycling can be. According to the VeloNews caption this picture was taken in Minnesota, however, Mr. Gibson’s website seems to indicate that this is from stage five of the race, which happened just across the border in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Either way this beauty is close by, even if the weather is still several months away.
